The K&NWLR finally finds time to post some more videos in the forum, including some of the new buildings at the harbour and an attempt to recreate a little bit of Portmeirion in North Wales.

Beautiful videos. Nice tramcar also.
How do your steam engine cope with the slopes in your layout?

Hi Paulus, Iīve kept the slopes to the minumum Iīve been able to, so they just speed up or slow down, as they want to!

PostSubject: Kent & North Wales Light Railway: Tree planting time ...   Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:10 pm

And itīs tree planting time (indoors) on the K&NWLR, while the snow begins to settle outside here on the "Continent" ---First trees are now planted to make things look a little less desert-like .... but it makes it clear how many are going to be needed!

Very nice! It surely give the landscape an other appearance. Some of the trees are looking very convincingly in length and it's not often you see trees in a right scale on an indoor layout. Are these homemade?

New video of a Regner "Vincent" making its way through Kent, passing the newly planted trees before crossing the bridge to North Wales and following the harbour branch line past the new warehouses, with a view of the village of Portmeirion in the background above the upper loop with new trees too.

Sadly, the buildings are only for use indoors, in fact that was the reason why I moved in "from the cold", so that I could do some railway "modelling". Most of the buildings have been stolen from real prototypes (photos etc.) with a lot of guesswork, but with aim of getting the flavour right, rather than the measurements.

I'm bowled over every time I look at your videos. The great advantage of an indoor layout must be to play 24/7. Please keep them coming.

What do you do for track cleaning BTW? Some of it looks a bit inaccessable?

Just been in the cellar, letting some trains run round the track. No track cleaning necessary yet (or ever, I hope) as I either have live steam or battery power. But wait and see. And yes, there are some access points hidden just in case of emergencies. But it hasnīt yet happened. The odd golf club is used to shift live steam locos that have run out of puff ...

Again some stunning pictures of your beautiful layout. I like the harbour / beach scene much. What did you used for the water?
