A trip around the tracks of the K&NWLR with views of the dual gauge lower loop, and some live steam to make it more interesting ...

Itīs been a while now, but Iīve been planting trees on the layout. And if you look carefully you might find parts of a Ducauville 3 tonne 32mm loco sitting on a siding at the harbour, waiting for repairs. Otherwise, this video shows the first run (and too fast at first) of an Accucraft "Peveril" ... (Sorry, but I havenīt managed to embed the video here, but I hope the link works).

Splendid, watched it twice.

The sound of steam and girder bridge are pleasurable on their own without the image.

Here's the embeded.

Brilliant, love it, if a bit speedy with the live steam!

Oh for an indoor layout I've been out dodging the showers today!

Thanks Carl for the embedding. And yes, the speeds of new locomotives are not alway prototypical :-) But towards the end, I manage to get the handle on the, err, handle.

Thanks, yes, the new Accucraft loco was a little lively, even with something on the hook, but weīll get there eventually ....

Before anybody says anything the above is said 'tongue in cheek'
It really is a very nice layout (but not a garden railway)

Well, I do consider myself average (see the purpose of the community) and the trains are definitely in garden-scale ... perhaps now I need to build a garden in the cellar. After 10 years "out there", I came in from the cold. And lastly, Alsace is not as warm as Dordogne!

I think Mikey with all due respect if you make a 'tongue-in-cheek' remark it will prompt a tongue-in-cheek reply. Wink

It is genuinely nice to have you back if only briefly...... Neutral

I deliberately changed the sub title of the forum to read:
'For the average enthusiast of trains in garden scale'

That encompasses just about everyone ...I thought.

If we are doing just and only a continental railway in a real garden then we would exclude a great deal of very interesting modelling.
And what about the exhibitions?..I don't see much real grass there.

So how about updating the (most replied to thread) Tramway Demiel then? Smile

Great to hear from you, Mikey. Hope you are well.

If you'll check out the "RailExpo 2012" and Carl's "I do work for a living..." threads, you'll see that we haven't changed - we still poke fun at each other.

You wouldn't happen to be wearing a pink tee shirt, would you?

I thought the echo of what "Railway Modeller" used to have printed on the cover pretty much summed all of us up! Thanks, Carl.
