Splendid Brian.

Very cleverly done posters.

I really thought for a moment there was actually a marque of Cognac called Brianb and I was trying to figure out how to pronounce the word. scratch

I have been working on my module too but very slowly at the moment.

There was a BRIAND brand of Cognac and it was too much of a temptation to Photoshop once I'd discovered the posters...

The Gaston Briand is still available today but at 750 euros a bottle

Nothing new to report! As the module is largely finished!

I'm still recovering from a minor operation in hospital last week, but very little still to do with the module, the only things before Chatellerault that I'm having difficulty with are the curtain for the front and painting the fascia.

I have no idea where to source the curtain and we have no needlework skills here anyway!

Daniel - I would welcome a visit from you to advise on detailing before the Exhibition.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rien nouveau rapporter !

I can make you up a curtain Brian. I'm going make some new ones for the layout at RailExpo anyway.

One can source lightweight coloured poly cotton on e bay for reasonable prices.

Example....:
Green poly cotton

Sorry Brian there's no chance of me getting to Bordeaux to buy some fabric and they don't sell online that I can see.

http://www.tissufiesta.com/tissu-ignifuge-non-feu-m1.html

We no longer have the seamstress who made the curtains.
You need to know to make a pleated (it's the technical term) should buy 2.5 times the finished length!
see example of price:
http://www.tissufiesta.com/tissu-ignifuge-non-feu-m1.html

If you want to install a cotton fabric of the color that you will find.
DZIN to Bordeaux and Arles expos had a black fabric.

Hi Carl and Daniel

I would appreciate both of your help on this.

If Daniel can purchase the necessary material and send it to Carl that would be great!

I can send Daniel a cheque or pay him, when I see him later this month!

Thanks Brian

Carl , this fabric is fine.
the seamstress had made the folds because ours fabric is lighter and therefore more transparent.
And folds, it is very aesthetic!

This material from tissufiesta
is far too heavy for curtains.

It is 650 gr per metre and is meant for upholstery fabrics and not really as curtain material.
You certainly will have problems with pleats.

Ideally for the curtains/screen we want the maximum weight is 200 gr.

I have trouble in finding 'Bordeaux red' on the internet at this weight and a sensible price.

Although I found this much lighter weight cotton M1 classed but in dark grey.

Tissu price.com

I shall still keep looking. cyclops

folds, it is very aesthetic !!!! but not required if the fabric is not transparent.

Having returned from my first exhibiting, have started on a few modifications to the module.

Firstly integrating an LGB controller into the back of the module, so no more loose wires...

And fabricating a pair of gates out of brass and copper wire to fill the gap between the two buildings in the centre of the module...

I've decided to modify the barrel wagons to look a little more realistic, so buying some blackened smaller wheelsets at ExpoRail and changing the LGB couplers for chain they now look like this...
