Found on Buntbahn gallerie today, an old photo of a Decauville Mallet purporting to be from 1891:

That would make a great model.

A compound too by the different cylinder sizes.

Notice the name plate 'L'avenir' = 'the future'. Very appropriate for a design of that period.
