It seems you have changed your muffler for a home made one. Is it more efficient or is it just a question of space?

It's a question of space, the standard Kyosho model is too wide and very loud!

My "muffler" (exhaust) is made from an early attempt at a fuel tank which proved too big!

Having run it with fuel in a couple of times, it was interesting when I decided to solder some new brass (laiton) pipework and applied the mini blow torch; there was an interesting "POP" and a gout of flame Embarassed  Embarassed

However it survived!

I have the same problem with the OS mufflers. Furthermore, they are very unefficient; as a matter of facts, they are just a piece of tubing with a change of diameter.
I must get in touch with someone in my relatives who handles a oxy-gas torch.

What material yours is made of? I thought of using brass as Carl, but maybe there is something cheaper and as easy to weld.
