PostSubject: Tender for my O&K   Mon Feb 03, 2014 4:57 pm

Lately I found some hours to get back to the workbench (and to the Forum too ;-) ) and I started with an idea that I have in my head for a while. Because the rear end of my loco is to low can't couple a car without LGB's bottle openers. So I thought of a tender. It'll also house the recover batteries and will have a working brake (some day).

cheers Lorenz

Very nice, what type of wood are you using ?

It's a good idea.

And what is the wagon on the right on you last picture ?

Hello Bearcastle'

Thanks :-). The wood is beech. A very good wood for modelling. The wagon is my heavy duty flat bed.

We'll have a little show in about 3 weeks where we'll run a combined parcour with 1:16-1:14 trucks and 1:13,3 fieldrailway. There I'll see if the distance between loco and tender is ok.

The brakes are working now. I also installed some wood planks to increase the amount of coal that can be carried ;-).

I uploaded the vids on YouTube. Now it should work.
Here you can see the brake shoes move.

And here is a small brake test.

Very nice. I wish I had your wood-working skills. I´ve got an O&K on order with the aim of converting the cab to a more UK looking wind-break style without a roof, which should also allow me to cheat a little about the scale of the thing, which is I think 1:13. For those of a metal-bending persuasion, there is a new tender for the post-Mamod "Janet" coming out, which might even fit behind an O&K or a Decauville.
