Great video Carl.
One day perhaps I will venture into steam who knows. I love the smell but not the expense.
My eyes are always bigger than my bank balance.

You say about the expense Peter but for a similar cost to decent LGB/Aristo machine you could venture quite sensibly into this form of traction.

I'm thinking about another little project for the spring/summer and you can pick up one of these quite 'cheaply' at around £400 or even 400Ä..... Laughing

Edrig

Without the superstructure, no cab, tanks etc., just a fully working bare loco they cost about £370.

If/when we get together in the summer you can try out some of my machines.......before you buy. Wink

Of course.....Mikey.

And chaps if you are earning euros here I don't need to tell you that those UK locomotives have in fact reduced in price by about a third in the last year.

I Love the railway Carl

It's inspiring and also daunting at the same time!

I have so much to do outside before I can even lay a metre of track, the wet weather hasn't helped either!

Merry Christmas

lol!

Poor Patrick....Not my turn, she's been and gone from here.

Brian don't be daunted. Just chuck a few treated planks down and put some track on top for now. It'll soon take shape afterwards.
Once you see track in the garden you feel more inspired.

The thing is if I don't make an effort to get out in the garden periodically and run trains I just get lazy and fatter. :pig: elephant

Brian, having been privileged to see this line in person I can vouch for it being highly worth a visit. Trouble is, you will also have to endure large quantities of superb wine - and fresh baguettes and smelly cheese too (well I did, thanks!)

Actually it reminds me I have some pics and video footage to sort out. Will try and do that soon

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all on here

Cheers to Carl for setting this forum up, too btw.

Oh Peter...that's a bugger with the currency. I've spent nearly all my 'English' money now but it must be bad if people have large investments.

Thanks Clive.....and I will get something off in the post soon to you.

Just to say a Merry Christmas and thank-you from me here.

And a forum is only as good as the people on it.
In 3 months we have had about a 1000 posts from around 40+ people. No disputes, tantrums, shut downs or lost threads....says he gulping Beaujolais.

I'm going back for some snails now. :alien: pale

The snails were terrible (I'm sure one was still alive) and we're on the 'foie gras' now. Fat (ducks) liver.

Thanks for the good wishes guys...

Pleased to report Mrs GW much improved today. Largely helped by copious applicatiion of Whiskey Mac last night.

Had an excellent 6 course meal at our local restaurant and she's now happily ensconced watching Dancing on Ice Xmas special. And we're well on the way into a second bottle of St Emillion!

Again thanks for the good wishes.

Loved the video Carl.

I think Caradoc looks great with a cab. (Just my preference though) Smile
