Got this project since a long time, I hope to make some progress this summer.

Not a lot to show for the moment, openning the post to keep me into it.

yes it's M14. I have the threaded rod already. I need to buy few more equipement next month.
Some spring washer, nylstop etc... and few other bits and parts.

I planned to built a small CNC demonstrator made of wood with an arduino for the electronics parts.
I have ordered some parts from Banggood and Aliexpress, but it takes time to receive it.
Not sure if use a dremel type machine or a small rooter (easier to find cutting tools with a rooter type).

I have some Arduino already, I am learning how to use it.
Got some plan to use some arduino onto some train project.
I am thinking of monitoring the engine motor speed and temperature inside the motor compartment of my future live diesel.
Quite fun, but I lack time at the moment, changing job at work, need to learn a lot of new stuff.

That sounds interesting. What will you demonstrate?

I just want to see how to do it. I saw a lot of machine on the web built simply with wood and arduino.
Its  real curiosity that drive me to do that. As well as using an arduino and some stepper motor.

It's quite cheap to built that way in fact.

Ok. Maybe you can build your own 3d printer.

Received more parts today.

An emergency switch to put on the side of the machine

The board to control the stepper motor and the stepper motor. three of each.
These are NEMA 17 stepper motor and the board is a TB6560 3A stepper motor drive.
These stepper motor are 2.5 A, so I couldn't use the very cheap control board, because it could do only 2 A.

And the last part is some shaft coupler, the stepper is 5 mm ans the rod is 14 mm.
Take me some time to find a good price for it. The chinese dealer was very good and understand what I needed. They are made of aluminium.
