Just looked at the weather forecast for the next 24 hours and we're in for some serious storms.
Most of the northern half of France can expect 80-100km winds gusting to 130km.

The winds coming from the North West.

Batten down the hatches!

Last time I expected to brace myself was in the shower block down the Falklands!
But nothing happened.

I was there too...(1986 Mountpleasant) which shower block were you using.
Mine was an upturned bread crate, a hose pipe and a piece of scrim.

Sounds like namby pamby weather "up north"

120 kph gusts down here.

Roof and a door blew off a neighbours barn but remarkably apart from flying dustbins we've escaped again. We're in a nice little valley and there's a protective row of trees at the bottom of the field. I feared for my track and Pola buildings which I'd only just started to put outside, but all OK.

The only pain is re-aligning the satellite dish it gets blown round every time. I will have to make a stronger bracket

Cheers Brian

It was a bit scary with the noise mostly. I couldn't see anything broken earlier this morning but will check further when I get home later.

The TV aerial has come loose from it's bracket on the roof but I hope that's all.

Both Paris airports were closed all night and there's lots of debris all around.

Now it's going to freeze again....getting a tad browned off with this winter. pale

We all seem to be getting it rough .... France with severe weather .... Australia with its bush fires .... Britain with 1cm of snow thawed by dinner time .... we are running out of salt, the schools are closed and aircraft are being diverted.

Shocked

Don't be fooled !

The only reason the cranes are going north again is cos they're being blown by 30 kph winds up from the chilly Camargue !

Classic SW France - in wind shadow = T Shirt : in the wind = "thermal undies"

Seriously within an hour here I've been sunbathing one minute and in three layers of fleeeces the next, and I'm not talking about my neighbours sheep !! That's another story!

Nice to hear there was hardly any damage to the house Geoff, and yes we've had three days of sunshine a little further south (at last!)
