Just in case we get bombarded by trolls and spammers (probably of Dutch or German origin). It may just be prudent make personal copies of your posts and input on this forum.

There are some system recovery tools but best to be safe.

A few posts of Paul's were deleted before February and I am investigating further.

The forum went down earlier coincidentally with a new 'member' trying to join.

The recovery tools seemed to have worked this time but please be aware.

Somebody is/was trying to spoil our little corner.

Probably my fault...maybe it was something I said. study

Does this have anything to do, I wonder, with the new member 'FrankS' that I saw join this lunchtime? Point taken about backing up posts!

You can't actually back up posts on here but If you have valuable or interesting work I would suggest making a copy as a word file or similar on your PC. Photos posted using 'servimg' should remain ok as that is a different server.

I could make a 'hidden forum' and manually copy all important posts. I haven't done so yet because it is time consuming but something I will consider earnestly.

There is enough technology around now to find out who is infiltrating....I used to work in Broadband....people can be traced and monitored without much difficulty - Mr Frank dot S at live dot.... Wink

I think I shall endeavour to convert mine to blog entries... - I intend making articles for GSJ or Garden Rail or whoever for some of them, then ultimately to a page on my web site.

Maybe Clive.

We'll see how it goes. One of the forum hosting servers did have problems earlier today and I actually think it was a concidence now rather than anything ouvertly malicious.

If the forum does go down I will activate up a temporary home and notify everyone by e mail.

Anyway back to the modelling and suddenly it's all busy busy busy,

Figures, buildings, layouts, steam engines, trams, more steam engines and more figures.

There are around 7 or 8 current building or modelling projects going on at the moment.

Nice.

You can save a complete forum page by clicking on "File" tab (top left of your screen) then click on "save page as" and save it in a folder or on your desktop. Even if you are offline or the forum goes down, you can still view the page. Each page has to be saved separately. I still have a lot of my deleted or lost pages from other forums.
