 Tramways de la Vienne

The Tramways de la Vienne (Poitiers-St. Martin l'Ars, 1896-1934) had stations which differed from the usual metre gauge railways: a two storey central block with single storey wings:

Among others, Usson-du-Poitou is still there, and its wooden Halle Marchandises too:



Gencay was unusual: from the road it looked standard:



But the tracks were lower, because they had just come off the road bridge over the Clouere:



(The former track bed is now the forecourt of a dicount store which was a dairy in the recent past) This is what it looked like when a station: note that the steps which led to track level have now gone, but the balcony is still there (pic from Domengie Les Petits Trains de Jadis)
