Finally C-3PO is making himself useful for once! Although it looks like he is complaining about something again...

I have been busy modifying the "Cognac" module with a carrying frame so that it and the "Mine" module will fit easily into the back of the Freelander.  I've also invested in a s/h roof box now that Caroline will be flying into Barcelona from London to join us on the 7th and I need space for more than one "overnight bag"! My last trip to Cergy for Ferrovi'art was more than a bit cramped and I was the only occupant!

Finally back from a most enjoyable weekend - the best yet, exhibiting with our Catalan friends in Barcelona.

The venue was a superbly decorated 1920's Theater/Restaurant building in the centre of Molins de Rei an up market commuter suburb of Barcelona...

The restaurant also doubles as a library above the dome on the first floor....

The theater next door was hosting an LGB layout by three Catalan enthusiasts (foreground), the Aster Europe Gauge 1 live steam layout (centre)and on the stage (back) our MOMI International grouping (as yet unlit)..

What a great place for an exhibition - and an impressive place for viewing the trains!

Great to see snow on the Pyrenes as I drove past Perpignan...

Daniel and Gerard unloading MOMI modules....

Ready for the opening....

Caroline flew down from London to join me, the first Expo she's attended ....

As ever the mine module popular with younger visitors, of which there was a steady stream throughout all three 3 hour sessions of the Expo....

A view fro Carlos's module abutting mine to the left....

Early Sunday morning the "French" MOMI party left Caroline and Dominique (Gerard's wife) slumbering in the hotel while they went to visit the garden railway of TRENS.CAT member Xavi at his fantastic garden railway in the steep hillside below his home.
From Left to Right Gerard, Genevieve, Daniel (Tram47), me and Amadieu (Picture taken by OLOT Amadieu of this forum)...

The layout is analogue driven by an LGB Jumbo with complex wiring built into the hillside, some of it twenty years old...

Amazing to see lemons and oranges on the trees in early February.

Xavi casts all his bridges in concrete, don't be fooled by the date on this one, some are over 15 years old!

I'll post some video later!

That´s a good looking line with some demanding gradients. Those of us with live steam look on with envy ....

One bizarre introduction by the Trens.cat team was to have a contraflow system reducing the normal MOMI loop to a single track.  This had then to be manned at all times and operated by a complex controller halting trains and changing track polarity to allow trains to pass.  Great fun but rather tiresome when you just want to have trains running round the loop...

Fortunately a steady supply of operators was on hand...
