Thanks...

Why I asked because I saw somewhere that there is someone with a G scale layout dedicated to the Darjeeling.
... and I think it is called 'Indian Hills'.

I wish I could get BBC4 here.... I might ask the neighbours though....

It is indeed (although I think it's 7/8ths scale), it was at the G Scale Society Solent Group show at Wickham a few weeks back. I'll see if I can resurrect some pics when I get a chance.

I've always liked the steamers they use on the Darjeeling railway. Sort of a real life "little engine that could". I only wish I had known of them when I travelled to India 20 or so years ago.

If anybody's interested, here's a lnk to PDF files that comprise patterns and instructions for a paper model of the steam loco.
Darjeeling Steam Loco.
There's no indication I can find of the scale, and it looks quite complex. But it might be a great project to pass the time while you are snowed in. What a Face

The same site has many other patterns, including cars, trucks, boats, Airplanes, and even this, a Pennsylvania RR GG-1.

Here's one place, there appear to be several other download points - just do an internet search for "expat shield"

I'm running it but I dont think i downloaded from Cnet ( always a bit suspicious of them!) It was posted on that anglo-info site (where the drums were Carl) as a link. the prog works brilliantly. (it just creates a UK IP address that you can use direct.

That's what I need, a pseudo UK IP address. I'll have a look on that forum.

Thanks.

A slight word of warning I downloaded direct from the official "Expat Shield" site, but it still came infected with a pretty severe "vundo.a4" virus.

No problem as StopZilla detected and removed, but might be a problem if you've got 'run of the mill' virus software!

However I tried the resultant Program on BBC iPlayer and it works great - thanks Mikey

Won't need it for "Indian Hills" though as we have a sat dish aimed at UK Freesat and get all the BBC and other Freeview channels!

It just shows that there is nothing really 'free' on the internet.....except this forum of course... cheers

I think I'll go and buy a satellite dish.....

My daughter has already screwed up one PC in the house by downloading infected stuff from a childrens site would you believe.

I really need something like this to run stuff from Sky's web site too. Try to run it from where I am and you get that same message...

I would heartily recommend STOPzilla (no I'm not on the payroll)

It removed from my system viruses that Norton, BitDefender and all the others couldn't touch.

I think it's about 30 dollars US and the real time online chat support has been exceptional!

I have run that expat shield and it works - strange thing is that if I run speedtest.net it puts my IP as on the west coast of USA. You would have thought that iplayer would be upset about that too. I downloaded from the makers site and did a scan but as you say BD does not find anything, I tried Stopzilla and it gets hung up very early into the scan. It did find some undetected adware stuff but wouldn't remove them unless I paid up. It would have been nice to try a full evaluation version first, I am not gonna cough up if it won't even do a scan for me.

The IP/VPN things IS great though. Just got to find the supposed virus somehow and get rid of it. Apart from stopzilla is there anything else going ?

After years of using AVG I changed last year to microsofts free Security Essentials and havent had any problems (in fact it sorted out a virus that AVG didnt detect!). As I've said before we dont get broadband here (its coming but dont hold your breath!) and with only a dial-up speed of 37.2 I tried to find a way of boosting the speed. I found the answer by changing from IE8 to Mozilla Firefox. That alone has blocked so many more infected sites. I had this set-up before I loaded Expat shield, so maybe thats why i didn't/dont have a problem?
