Packing the freight cars tonight so all the diesels and steamers will have something to haul at the Expo.
Working hard to gets some little things done on the VW, Mercedes and railbus in time so these can run as well. But I lack time..... Perhaps I take some hours off from work tomorrow.. Neutral

I'm bringing a photo camera that also makes reasonable good video's.

Bummer! I was testing the trains and my railbus (the one on the leaflet) refuses to give any sign of life... Mad
I don't have time to look what's wrong (I think it's all wrong but it was my first try) but I'll bring it anyway so it can stand there... standing...

Come to think of it, that gives it an even more French look doesn't it? Razz

Anyway, I still got the Mercedes and the VW and some freight stock that your loco's can haul.

I'm back......

A busy 4 days, an excellent weekend, film and photos to follow.

But first a huge thank you to those who came.

Laurent, a great surprise and armed with goddies and croissants.

The Granthams, David and Margaret for being thoroughly nice people...sorry about the engine David.

Paul for coming all the way from Holland and bringing those excellent models which are even more superb than in the photos.

Anton and his mum for defying accomodation problems and bringing that smelly diesel which worked very well.

Geoff Parton (who visits the forum regurlarly as a guest) for spending 3 and half very entertaining days in the 'inner circle'.

A very big appreciation for Paul and Geoff for staying to help dismantle and clear up which was done in a record time of 50 minutes.

There were other French visitors who came and brought locos to run such as Denis with his Roundhouse and Patrick and Gilles with their Regner Emma.

Here we go with a few pics.

I arrived with Twingo and trailer on Thursday morning.

Yes it really does all fit inside such a small car.

The great thing about being in the foyer is having the place quiet and to oneself to install.

It was a leisurely assembly as I had all afternoon.

Some added scenery in the form of a simple Correze type station and loose ballasting.

To be continued....

Some of Paul's fine models can be seen to the right in the station loop.

Great pics Carl, keep them coming!

Amazing how much stock you can display in a small area!

Did anyone try using the payphone in the corner whilst you were running the live diesels scratch

Great pictures Carl!

I had a very good time in Villebon! It was great to meet the others, let the trains run and specially to learn how to fire up the steamers. The public was very enthusiast and the staff was very friendly. I wished I could speak better French...
It was something to look back at with great pleasure.

I'm uploading pictures and movies this evening.

It was very pleasant to have you there and I hope you and your family had a good time in Paris.

For fun and camaraderie I thought this year was one of the best. Thanks for helping to make it that way.

I have a lot of film some quite funny. Laughing

The smallest one around:

The Chiemsee locomotive. There were some discussion about the right use of the chimney.

And Geoff's Cheddar steamer in full service:

Carl, I'm looking forward to those movies!

This is quite nice.

At about 1.45 one of the boys says: "Je l'ai arrêtée, elle a vue ma main". I stopped it, it saw my hand.

Also in the background someone is trying to use the aforementioned telephone in the corner without success and then asks for a taxi telephone number.

Very nice films Carl. It was indeed really fun to see the kids being so enthusiastic watching the trains. Some of them you saw dreaming away. I believe David mentioned it once about a little boy who was staring with big eyes to those wonderfull trains; "He doesn't realise it now, but at this moment his life has changed forever".

Here's a little film I made on the live diesels:
