That's very kind Mike! A lift might well be appreciated! However I'm trying to persuade Ray (who's building a garden railway near Chabanais) to come along too, assuming that's OK with Van?

Just a quick post to thank Van and Susan for hosting such a great day! Pics to follow when I get a chance. The new steam up sidings area is the best yet!

Cheers

As promised afew pics. I was too busy running Van's live steam while Van bbq'd to take many but Phil took a few? ....

It rained in the morning but the skies cleared and the sun came out.(This pic for some reason reminds me of paint brushes,Van)

"The Sidings" I ask you! We're in France! (Yes I totally agree,therefore with immediate effect I`m changing the name of the railway to WYLR.and going to model on the Seychelles narrow gauge.Van)

Superb "steam up" area. Van plans to continue a loop into the woods!

As Van explains to his guests.

EDIT
I`ve added a couple of comments to the pics. Van

My camera battery was flat, so I took pics on my phone - trouble is I don't have the gizmo to connect it to a PC so will post when I get back to UK. Van and Susan managed to provide a really fabulous gourmet meal for about 50 people - a local fete as well as a running day..Dorothy and our friend Jane have asked me to say a big thank you for a great day out..

My camera battery was flat, so these pics were taken on my phone and the quality is very poor - but it was a memorable occasion and thanks are due again to Van and Susan. Dorothy and I and our friend Jane had a terrific time. It was very much a local fete Very Happy - Van and Susan catered for about 40 guests (and this is the first appearance on the forum of Van's place of work - the artic in the background):

Brian approved of Van's steam up area - shaded and at an acessible level. The track will continue into the woods beyond:

Radio control at work - even I had a go, but on the whole, I think I'll stay all-electric...

Van's Lyn got a runout, but its first use for two (?) years revealed it to be in need of service;

Brian's demonstration of how to start a locomotive vapeur attracted an interested crowd ("Oui, madame, c'est de vrai vapeur")

No pics of my Billard running, but one guest did say that it was in exactly the right colours of the old autorails that ran on the Limoges-Poitiers line at the bottom of Van's garden - which is a great compliment to Interfer!
